About Background Removal
This tool uses a machine learning model that runs entirely in your browser to detect and remove image backgrounds. No images are uploaded to any server — everything is processed locally on your device using WebAssembly and AI inference.
How It Works
The tool uses a neural network (U2-Net) optimized for salient object detection. When you upload an image, the model identifies the foreground subject and creates a precise mask to separate it from the background. You can then replace the background with white, transparent, or any custom color.
